I designed an A3 poster for Faux Gallery's Design Through Time exhibition, capturing Paris’s essence through balanced composition, refined typography, and a culturally resonant color palette. The focal point—a bold, ornate old door—was chosen because such doors are synonymous with Paris, seen throughout the city as enduring symbols of its architectural elegance and history. To enhance the design and enrich its sense of elegance and sophistication, I incorporated visual techniques that simulated the effect of embossing on thick card stock.
Using Illustrator’s pen tool, I mirrored half of a double door for perfect symmetry, refining the texture with charcoal brush strokes to create a tactile, inked effect. The final poster seamlessly reflected Paris’s identity while aligning with Faux Gallery’s artistic vision.
